NWM - Manson Boss Anchor

Brand new patented Manson Shackle Preventor
The Manson Boss has one slot in the shank with two docking stations to enable you to use your anchor in all seabeds. The patented Preventor quickly unscrews and docks on the alternate station to transform the anchor from a fixed shank to a sliding shank for operation in foul ground. The Preventor is captive which means you won't lose it.

Shank Optimisation
• We've used FEA (finite element analysis) optimised for maximum strength and removed material that isn't used, hence the hole in the shank. We used minimum 800mpa high tensile steel .
• Made from Lloyd's Register certified high tensile steel .
• Shank clearance streamlined to conform to Powerboat fairleads and bow rollers

Roller Flaps/Trim Flaps:
• Ensure the fastest set in even the most demanding seabed conditions
• Raising the holding power by forcing the flukes downwards creating a minimum of 28% deeper setting than other new-generation anchors

Double reinforced nose:
• Focused nose biased tip weight concentration enabled by double thickness laminate layer (DTLL) technology for fastest set possible

NWM - Manson Boss Anchor features
NWM - Manson Boss Anchor dual shank

The Manson Boss has dual modes of operation in one slotted shank. Using the patented shackle Preventor, the anchor transforms from a standard anchor to a sliding shank anchor. The slot has two docking stations on it. The Preventor is simply loosened and moved to the opposite end of the shank and tightened on the alternate dock to change between modes.

When you are using the long slot, it means that if your anchor becomes fouled in rocks or coral, the shackle can slide forward and pull the anchor out from the front which aids retrieval. It's like you take a fish hook out the same way it goes in. Always remember, you never retrieve a fouled anchor by trying to pull it out from directly above. The idea is to pull it out the same way it goes in, ie back the anchor out of its location.

When you're using the short slot the anchor will remain buried even with major windshifts. The sandslot is ideal for all sand, mud weed and grass conditions. The sandslot is also the recommended attachment for anchoring in extreme wind conditions.

Anchor sizing

NWM - Manson Boss Anchor sizing

Anchor sizing should be interpreted as a guide only. Many factors influence anchor size selection ie, whether the boat is a heavy displacement or a light displacement craft and how much windage the vessel has. The chain size, weight and length is critical to anchor performance and if in doubt use larger chain. Finally the vessel usage should also be factored in ie whether the anchor will only be used as a "lunch pick" in fair weather for day outings or indeed whether the vessel will be going on extended coastal or offshore cruising. If in any doubt about anchor selection always use a bigger anchor, in bad weather or motoring failure, it is the only thing you can rely on to save the lives of you and your crew.
